Physiotherapy in Makadi Bay
Makadi Bay is a lively beach resort area about thirty kilometres south of our clinic in Al Kawther, Hurghada, popular with families and with divers who want a house reef on their doorstep. The bay packs a lot into a short stretch of coast — large all-inclusive resorts, a water park, dive centres and a golf course — and the pace of activity means we hear from guests who pulled something on the flumes, tweaked a knee on the tennis court, or woke up barely able to move after a long day on the boat. Range Physiotherapy Clinic treats both residents and holidaymakers here, and the mix of acute injuries and chronic flare-ups is broader than in the quieter bays.
Home-visit travel time from the clinic
The drive from the clinic to Makadi Bay takes around thirty-five to forty-five minutes. Resorts at the northern entrance to the bay are a little closer, while those grouped around the southern headland take a few minutes longer. For families travelling with children or guests whose pain makes a car journey uncomfortable, a hotel visit is usually the better choice, and we can often schedule it for the same or the following day so a holiday is not lost to a waiting room.
Hotels and resorts we visit in Makadi Bay
Makadi Bay’s resorts line the beach and the road behind it, and we are regularly called to Steigenberger ALDAU Beach Resort, Jaz Makadi Resort & Spa, Iberotel Makadi Beach, Sunwing Waterpark Makadi, and Cleopatra Makadi Bay Resort. The dive-centre hotels and the properties around the golf course generate a steady flow of overuse and sport-related complaints, while the family resorts send more aqua-park and pool-side injuries.

Conditions we treat most often in Makadi Bay guests
Makadi Bay’s blend of diving, sport and family activity produces a wide case mix. Divers arrive with shoulder impingement from kit handling, lower-back pain from boat entries, and jaw pain after difficult equalisation. The water park and pools bring ankle sprains from wet tiles, and the tennis courts and golf course produce elbow, shoulder and lumbar strains in guests who play harder on holiday than they do at home. Long-haul flights remain the single biggest contributor to our Makadi caseload: stiff, painful lumbar spines and aggravated disc pain that began in the aircraft seat and worsened after the first snorkelling session. We also see post-surgical patients — particularly knee and shoulder rehab — who want to keep their recovery on track while away, and a number of older visitors with acute arthritic flares after a day of excursions.
